Marzipan Acorns
Ingredients
(Makes approximately 16) |

- 125g (4 oz) white marzipan
- green food colouring
- 25g (1 oz) good quality plain chocolate such as Bourneville
- chocolate vermicelli

Method
- Place a sheet of greaseproof paper on a baking sheet.
- If the marzipan is hard, knead it with your fingers a bit until it softens.
- Add tiny drops of green colouring to the marzipan until it is coloured a pale green.
- Divide the marzipan into 16 pieces and roll each piece into an oval shape to look like an acorn.
- Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a small pan of simmering water.
- Holding one end of each acorn, carefully dip it into the melted chocolate so that one half is covered. Now dip the chocolate end into the vermicelli.
- Place each acorn on the greaseproof paper and leave to set.
